Recent (25.2.2025) ,,troubles" with the new generation of Glock Performance Trigger - further on just GPT - (which is marked as compatible with Gen4/Gen5 - can be identified easily by having a Gen5 backplate in the package).
We have received feedback from two sources, that after the installation of our trigger shoe on the new gen Glock Performance Trigger compatible with Gen4/Gen5 a problem is occuring, which demonstrates itself by the slide hanging up during slow racking with user's hand (until the striker is tensioned). This is happening due to a change in sear geometry in the new generation GPT as illustrated in the picture below:
The new sear is unable to move low enough due to it's increased height, therefore it is necessary to "overpower" the interference between the sear and the striker tab. During a dynamic racking of the slide (as one should do) this issue is practically negligible. However during slow racking, the interference has to be forcefully overcomed. It is not ideal, however this issue is not caused by a problem on our side. We have discovered that his Glock screw-up is also affecting other users, who did not change their trigger shoe and only installed the new GPT. One example can be found here , a second thread with more user experience is started here.
We are working to get a statement from Glock if they are planning to solve this somehow or not and in the meantime we are working on manufacturing the "old" style sears, which would allow the users hit with this issue to remedy it. The compatibility testing of "old" sear desing in new gen GPT have already been conducted and everything is working fine, which means the parts are fully compatible and 100% safe as the previous generation.
There are no issues with installation of our trigger shoe in first gen GPTs (can be identified by the lower profile sear) or in stock trigger groups and everything is working perfectly fine, just as inteded.
