The TEC-9 is a 9mm semi-automatic pistol, originally developed in Sweden as a submachine gun. It became famous in the 1980s and 1990s in the USA for its rugged appearance and high magazine capacity (up to 32 rounds). It uses a simple dynamic bolt system and is made of a combination of polymers and steel. Although not known for its accuracy, it offers a high shooting cadence. Due to its popularity among gangs, it was controversial and eventually banned in 1994. By 1994, about 250,000 had been sold, making it a relatively rare piece. Incidentally, the gun was used in the Columbine High School shooting by shooter Dylan Klebold. The TEC-9 has appeared in numerous movies and TV shows, contributing to its iconic reputation. Production ended in 2001 when Intratec went out of business.
